Your journey begins with a seamless chartered flight from OR Tambo International Airport at 11:30, taking you directly into the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Upon landing at the Timbavati Airstrip, you'll take a short scenic drive to Thabamati Luxury Tented Camp, where you’ll be welcomed by friendly staff and shown to your spacious tent, complete with panoramic views of the nearby dam and the Drakensberg Mountains. After settling in and enjoying a light lunch, you’ll head out on your first afternoon game drive, where you’ll get your first taste of the incredible wildlife Timbavati has to offer. The day ends with a delicious dinner under the stars, gathered around the boma.
Rise early for a morning game drive, heading out into the reserve just as the bush wakes up. This is the perfect time to spot wildlife as the animals become active with the morning light. After the drive, return to camp for a hearty breakfast, followed by time to relax at your leisure—take a dip in the infinity pool, read a book in the library corner, or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings from your private deck. In the late afternoon, head out again on another game drive to catch the wildlife as they gather by the waterholes, followed by sundowners in the bush. Dinner is served back at camp, where the fire’s warmth and the African night sky create the perfect end to the day.
Start your day with an optional guided bush walk, offering a different and immersive perspective of the African wilderness. Instead of a morning game drive, you’ll explore the reserve on foot, led by expert guides who will help you track animal footprints, learn about native plants, and appreciate the smaller wonders of the bush. Later, enjoy a hearty lunch back at camp and take time to relax—perhaps watching wildlife activity by the dam from your private deck or cooling off in the infinity pool. In the late afternoon, you’ll head out for an exciting evening game drive, catching wildlife as they prepare for nightfall. Dinner will be served in the open-air dining area, under the sparkling African sky, providing the perfect ending to an adventurous day.
Your last morning at Thabamati starts with an early game drive, one more chance to explore the reserve and take in the magic of the Timbavati before you leave. After breakfast, it’s time to pack up and bid farewell to the camp. A chartered flight will take you back to OR Tambo International Airport at 10:00, bringing your unforgettable luxury Kruger adventure to a close.
